Revelation 4:1-2
I believe here that John is a type & representation of the church being raptured at the end of the church age that we just concluded in Rev 3
Rapture = Snatching Away Of The Church
John is a type of the Church that is caught up with a trumpet sound
I believe the Church is raptured before the Tribulation

Church is mentioned 19 times in Revelation 1-3 but not mentioned again until Revelation 22 after the Tribulation is over

I believe in a pre-trib rapture but I also recognize the frailty of it
Once John is taken up he sees into the very Throne Room of God in Heaven and it's incredible

Revelation 4:7-11
4 living creatures are similar to Ezekiel
Ezekiel 1:4-14
Ezekiel identifies these creatures as Cherubim (angelic beings) in chapter 10
These creatures have 4 wings though
Isaiah 6:1-8 says, "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. 5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
It seems that John sees the same creatures that Ezkeiel and Isaiah saw
The 4 living creatures in Revelation 4 are either Cherubim or Seraphim
Seraphim means burning ones
And their function is continual worship
Holy, Holy, Holy = One word used in the form of a triplet to describe God
Worship is the theme in heaven
Worship is ascribing "worth"
We will cast our crowns before Him
We might as well start worshipping Him here on earth because He is worthy
