Russian FSB agents detained a Crimea Resident on suspicion of funding terrorism

~~ Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea detained a suspect in sponsoring terrorism in Sevastopol. According to the FSB, a local resident transferred money to the account of the Islamic State terrorist organization.

“It has been established that the suspect transferred funds to support the activities of the armed formations of the ITO ISIS,” the Federal Security Service reports.

A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the financing of terrorism. The highest penalty in this case may be life imprisonment.
