Do you ever feel like you're on a merry-go-round with life's worries swirling around you? Or are you struggling with health issues, family challenges, a stressful job, or making ends meet? With such struggles, we yearn to escape and perhaps get away on a vacation far away.

Guess what? There is an “all-inclusive”, free vacation that you can take right now! No need to plan ahead. No need to get pet sitters. No need to make reservations.

When you put God first and set your mind on things above, you can enjoy the benefits of a true vacation. He gives you rest. He gives you joy. He gives you peace. He carries all those burdens for you. He provides your needs. He gives wisdom. He gives strength. He gives endurance. He gives freedom. He erases the past. He releases you from sin and guilt. He provides a way for you to let go. He provides the answer to every problem, every crisis, every worry, every stress, every pain, every guilt, every sorrow. He provides the escape.

As we read in Matthew 6:31-34, "Seek first the kingdom and all these things will be added to you" means more than just food, clothes, shelter. It also means God will provide His peace, joy, strength, wisdom, hope, patience, and love.

We just have to pause and sit with God. As He tells us in Psalms 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God."

We must put aside the "to do list", slow down, turn off the noise, let go, reprioritize and put time with God first. It is as simple as beginning each day with Him, even if it's just the first 5 or 10 minutes. Say a prayer for the day ahead. Read a verse in the book of Psalms.

With God and His promises in the forefront of your mind, you will gain perspective. The stress and worries will melt away. You'll remember who has got it handled for you already. You can rest assured that every detail is covered in his all-inclusive vacation.

When we slow down and sit in "vacation mode" with God, we can proclaim what David shared in Psalm 16:11,
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

A vacation with fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore?! That is the type of vacation we all can use! So sit back, relax and enjoy your trip as you embark into God’s presence.
