Most people in an African-American community are post abortive. Though it can appear to be a somewhat confusing term, it has a fairly simple meaning: you or someone close to you, has had an abortion. And coming to terms with what happened is so difficult that it makes it hard for almost anyone to overcome it on their own. Lori Hoye, wife of the Reverend Walter Hoye, has worked with post-abortive congregations for years to help the women work through their having been post abortive. Her biggest tip: don't call the class "healing from abortion." Instead she suggests to call the class "Healing from Trauma."
