The state of Illinois requires a person to complete 16 hours of training to obtain Illinois concealed carry licensing. For a licensee to renew their concealed carry license, they must take 3 hours of continuing education.
The Illinois State Police, which is the governing body, produces the license in which a licensee carries on their person.
ISP has combined the Illinois concealed carry license and FOID into a single card. The new combined concealed-carry and FOID card do not indicate an expiration date on them.
It's up to you, the licensee, to know your expiration dates. You can find these dates in your online portal
