The Bluegrass Pioneers: An In-Depth Look at the Careers of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs

A film documenting the lives and careers of bluegrass legends, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. The film begins with their rural beginnings in North Carolina and Tennessee, through their years with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys and as leaders of their own Bluegrass band, The Foggy Mountain Boys. And later as they headed their own bands, The Nashville Grass and the Earl Scruggs Revue.

These immense talents, each in his own way, were part of the driving force that created the genre of Bluegrass Music. We’ve included back stories about their lives and their relationship with Bill Monroe, for better or worse. The legacy they leave behind has enriched the lives of many and inspired countless young artist, who they nurtured, to rise to the height of success in the music industry.
