South Africa - Cape Town - 1 February 2023 - The Akademik Alexander Karpinsky seismic survey vessel, has left the Port of Cape Town before its planned fossil fuel exploration in Antarctica. Despite a mining ban, the Russian ship has built oil and gas maps of the endangered marine sanctuary and the Southern Ocean.
