The Hovik waterfall, 111 meters high, was discovered by Europeans in 1800, but back in the 50s of the last century it was difficult to get here. And this was due not only to the impenetrability of the jungle, a curse hangs over the lake and the waterfall itself.

It is believed that a giant snake lives in the waters of the lake, from time to time attacking people. Legend has it that the Inkanyamba, a monstrous creature with the body of a snake and a head the size of a horse, lurks in the pool. The beast is believed to be most feared during the summer, when its fury sends storms and hurricanes across the region.

What is true here and what is fantasy is hard to say, but one thing is for sure - the place is mystical in its beauty.
