The veiled chameleon is a species of chameleon native to the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Other common names include cone-head chameleon and Yemen chameleon. They are born pastel green and without their distinctive casques on their head. They grow this as well as become more colorful as they mature.

These have become an established non native species in many areas of Florida. While they don’t belong here, they have little to no ecological impacts. They prey on mainly non-native insects and sleep on non native plants.
