Did an apparition conjure snowfall inside this historic Alexandria, Virginia home?
The Potts-Fitzhugh-Lee House is a historic house populated by some lively spirits on Oronoco Street in Alexandria, Virginia. It was originally built in 1795 for John Potts, a secretary of the Potomac Canal Company and friend of George Washington. It was later purchased by William Henry Fitzhugh, a wealthy tobacco planter and racehorse breeder, and became the home of Henry "Light-Horse Harry" Lee III, father of Robert E. Lee. Robert E. Lee lived there until he left for the US Military Academy at West Point. The house has had several other owners throughout its history and has undergone several renovations. It is now a private residence and is not open to the public. Previous owners described hearing and interacting with phantom children and a small black dog, but were careful to emphasize it was a playful, not frightening, experience. In another strange incident, an apparition appeared and caused it to snow indoors! #virginia #alexandriava #hauntedhouse
