Persecution - Ravi Chandran

Matthew 5:10-12 says, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way, they persecuted the prophets before you.”

While persecution is not something we often hear about, especially in the Western hemisphere, it is a daily reality for many believers worldwide. In fact, the New Testament has more to say about persecution than prosperity - not surprisingly. We read about it in the Gospels, the Book of Acts, the Epistles and all the way to the book of Revelations.

Today, there are believers around the world who literally lose their life, just because they believe in Jesus. Jesus said in John 15:20, "Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”

We'd like you to come and find out what persecution actually means, as opposed to incurring resistance due to foolishness. There is a massive difference between the two, and it is a blessing to be persecuted, and unwise to incur wrath due to foolishness.
