Big Fallow Bucks and Red Deer Stags are the species being hunted this trip. All hunting is on foot, stalking in the beautiful mountains of the Hunter Valley NSW Australia. I was very fortunate to take two trophies in a day mid afternoon. My morning didn't go so well after I missed the shot on a really nice old Fallow Buck by shooting a tree branch between me and the slightly obscured target animal. This trip I'm shooting my custom mountain rifle. A Tikka T3X chambered in 30-06 with a carbon fiber stock. Nice and light to carry which is soon negated by lugging camera equipment to film these hunts with......

Both the deer taken are free range, wild animals. Not world record breakers by any means. But the brown chocolate buck is a new PB for me so I'm very happy with how the hunt went in the end.
