The Intention Technique

The intention technique is a technique that can be found in Stephan Laberges book “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.”
Like many techniques it is simple but will help you significantly on your path to improve your lucid dreaming.

Here is how you do this technique.

First when you wake up in the morning, or when you wake up at some point later on in your sleep period confidently affirm your intention to recognize when you are dreaming.

Next take some time to imagine you are in a dream scenario where something occurs that will signify that you are in a dream. Use several of your most common Dream signs for this.

In addition to imagining that you recognize the Dream signs also take some time to imagine yourself doing some kind of predetermined action during the dream. It is particularly good that this action itself is a dream sign. Be sure to firmly resolve to recognize you are dreaming while imagining this as well.

The reason for this is because sometimes people will remember to to do the action without actually remembering to check if they are dreaming. If you do this you may be able to become lucid after the fact when you recognize you are doing the predetermined action, since it may trigger you to consider that you are now in a dream.

That is the intention technique. Thank you and until next time.
