Panama becomes the next country set to make ₿itcoin 'Legal Tender' ✊💰

Not long after El Salvador implemented a new law mandating the acceptance of ₿itcoin by merchants and airdropping some to every citizen, Panama has since proposed its own crypto law. In contrast, however, Panama's new law is much less heavy-handed and more voluntary, is generic to cryptocurrency including explicit mentions of Ethereum, and goes into territory such as decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). More importantly though, this kicks off an "arms race" of competition between jurisdictions to offer the most complete crypto regulatory framework.

Do not disregard the 3rd world and developing nations adopting ₿itcoin as a currency. These are countries in desperate need of sound money. Countries that have been under the heavy hand of the IMF for decades. Countries with runaway double-digit inflation where the ability to save is virtually nonexistent. Countries where the majority of citizens are left 'unbanked'.

With apps like "Moonpay" anyone with ₿itcoin can swap BTC for their native currency and pay bills electronically like you would with a bank account. Or use the lightning network and instantly transfer BTC to anyone with a smartphone, making shopping painless and without worry of being robbed on the way to the market. They don't have to rely on bankers and banks, which are closed on holidays and have set hours of operation, limits on how much money you must leave with the bank to have an account, and can easily go bankrupt. No need to rely on money orders, or outrageous fees to wire money. The people can now confidently thumb their nose at the bankers and their incoming programmable CBDC, which was of enormous concern to the 2023 WEF at Davos.

This is historically unprecedented. For the first time we are seeing nations move away from government fiat, switching to a digital currency that no government controls. This could be the beginning of a new era! Perhaps signaling the eventual death of fiat currencies and the power it has allowed governments to wield over the people.
