NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh holds a news conference in Ottawa as the House of Commons returns from its winter break. The NDP leader is calling on the House of Commons to hold an emergency debate on the privatization of health care. His request comes following the recent decisions of the Ontario and Alberta governments to increase publicly-funded surgeries and procedures at for-profit private clinics. Singh also responds to questions on issues including the appointment of Amira Elghawaby as Canada's first special representative on combating Islamophobia, health-care funding for the provinces and territories, and his party's supply-and-confidence deal with the Liberal government.
