Breaking Out of Helplessness
Hebrews 11:34

Obj: that the brethren may not stay and be resort to being weak

Intro:
Define: weak, strong, contrast/compare physical/mental/spiritual
Benefits of strength or being strong
Danges/Disadvantages of being weak

Reasons and ways that we may break out of Helplessness – to be strong rather than stay weak
1. The weak are vulnerable to attack while strength deflects even attempts of enemies
a. Moses’ instruction to the spies – Numbers: 13:18
b. It’s very desirable and crucial therefore to be strong and not be weak
c. Project strength, avoid and improve on your weaknesses
2. Weakness (and strength) are cumulative - 2Samuel 3:1
a. Armies either go weak or strong – like our spiritual standing
b. Build up quality strength early
3. Strength attracts blessings/rewards, weakness tend to trouble and hardships
a. 2Chronicles 15:7 – encouragement of the prophet Azariah to king Asa
b. Note display of strength of spirit in what king Asa did
c. Rewards system is very effective and proven across the board – use it properly
4. Strength / Weakness can be attempted to be faked
a. Wicked people tend to do this – be careful and avoid - Joel 3:10
5. It is Hard but it is possible to break away from weakness and be strong
a. Heroes of the faith did it - Hebrews 11:34

Good and better use of weakness and being strong
1. Supporting / Service to the weak – we all have been there before, return the favor - Romans 15:1, 1Corinthians 4:10, 2Corinthians 12:10, 2Corinthians 13:9
2. Obtain wisdom from God - 1Corinthians 1:25

Message/conclusion:

Let us be strong and not be weak following the example of the Lord and His servants
