Odessa-Montour's Keyonna Garrison (16) suffers stroke during gym class
Keyonna Garrison (16) suffered a stroke on January 5th, 2023. According to a fundraising campaign created to help the family with medical expenses, the stroke was caused by a blocked vertebral artery.
Keyonna was initially treated at Guthrie Corning Hospital and then was transferred to the ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
She will undergo physical therapy to improve her motor skills. There was no impact to her cognitive skills. She is on the road to recovery, but it will be a long and emotional journey.
