Watching Curlew eggs. 2023 Pt 1/3 Setting up.

This is part 1 of a 3-part series of #sequences of #photos #footage #Curlews. I was learning how to use a #trailcamera camera. The subject was a pair of #expectingparents #mummy and #dad Curlew #birds . A stunning #flightlessbird bird that doesn't build a #nest but simply lays its eggs on the ground and then #guards them #fiercely. Their #plumage is highly #camouflaged against their #environment as to the colours of the #eggs .

I spent a couple of weeks observing the proud #parentstobe as they held vigils and did a changing of the guard for sitting and protecting the eggs. So during the day, the eggs hid in plain sight and during the night mum and dad did what expecting parents do and sat patiently waiting for them to hatch.

Part two - brings us closer to the Curlews for their change of guard and daily vigils over their eggs. Mum and dad doing what mum and dads do.

Part three gives us... well. You won't want to miss this episode it was very moving and I was on the edge of my seat as I watched the raw footage so if you like this video and want to see this natural event then subscribe and click the notification bell. It was like something you might see in a #davidattenborough David Attenborough documentary.
