How Much Air is Actually in A SCUBA Tank?

I found out how much air is really in a scuba tank! I go scuba diving alot and have breathed air from many scuba tanks, I have always wondered how much air was actually inside the scuba tank though. I mean, if you let all the air out of the scuba tank how much space would it fill or the Total Uncompressed Volume. For this scuba science experiment I got a giant balloon and attached it to the scuba diving tank and released all the air into the balloon. The balloon inflated to appx. 5.5 feet in diameter, using the formula to find the volume of a sphere, I roughly calculated the amount of air that was in the balloon. It was around 80 cu. ft. which is exactly what this particular dive tank is rated to hold. I hope you enjoy the vid and learning how much air is actually in a Scuba tank.
