The giraffe is an even-toed hoofed mammal that inhabits open forest areas in Sub-Saharan Africa. They are the highest animal species in the world that live on land. Male giraffes can reach a height of between 4.8 to 5.5 meters and weigh up to 1,360 kilograms. While the female giraffe is usually shorter and has a lighter weight. Giraffes are related to deer and cows. However, giraffes come from a different tribe, namely giraffidae, which are closely related to okapi.
