If you escape the fringe, you get called eight different labels compared to escaping scientology

If you escape scientology (and speak out publicly), you get labeled one of two things: Suppressive Person (SP) or a Bitter Apostate. This is well documented.

If you escape the fringe (and speak out publicly, or call out others trapped in the fringe), they'll call you one of eight labels: Shill, spook, spy, agent, plant, informant, operative or paid actor/actress. This is somewhat documented and more scattered.

Planting the seeds of doubt is all one needs to do (a little more persistent with the fringe, might I add) in order to lessen the effects on the entrenchment. Suggesting exit-cult counseling is one way, telling them about cult-influence is another way.

Some aren't even aware the fringe is a multiple-factioned cult that can turn those trapped into extremists without them even realising it, until things go too far.
