Chairman Omali Yeshitela founded the International People`s Democratic Uhuru Movement in 1991 as a revolutionary mass organization to defend the democratic rights of the African working class.

The Party also launched Black Star Industries bringing all of the economic development institutions of the Party under one umbrella, creating partnerships with community members.

Today, The Chairman, as the leader of the African Socialist International, speaks to his growing base around the world and leads the worldwide movement for the liberation of Africa and African people everywhere.
