Battle for Ugledar on Ukrainian front lines | Ukraine War

The end of January is approaching, despite the Russian Armed Forces' slowly developing offensive on limited parts of the frontline in the Donbass region. Ugledar had joined two other well-known recent hotspots as of January 27: Soledar and Artemovsk (also known as Bakhmut).

According to the most recent reports, Russian forces have gradually pushed pro-Kiev troops out of the Ugledar area, taking advantage of their superior artillery and air power. Parts of the town are already under Russian control. However, because of a large fortification system and regular reinforcements that aid pro-Kiev units, the area is likely to remain contested in the short-to-medium term.
