Moment of the blast in Iranian city, Isfahan, after drone attack

An explosion at one of ammunition-producing centers of Iran’s Defense Ministry was triggered by a drone attack, the IRNA news agency reported on Sunday citing the military agency.

"On the evening of January 28, 2023, around 23:30 (22:00 Greek time) there was an unsuccessful drone attack on one of the Defense Ministry’s centers," the ministry’s statement said.

The statement referred to the incident as an “unsuccessful attack.” It did not attribute responsibility to any specific country or group.

"One of them was taken down by an air defense system while two others were caught by air defense traps and exploded," the agency said.

The ammunition depot in the city of Isfahan, located in central Iran, where a powerful blast was reported late on Saturday night, was attacked by drones, Iranian news agency IRNA reports.
