Time Breaker 5/8 Octave Bounce Exercise @thelogiconlyzone

I was listening to one of the Tangerine Dream sequences for the movie The Prophecy which reminded me that I had promised Logic an octave bounce exercise for his left hand keyboard lines.

So, I was just jamming to the theme playing in the next room and I came up with a relatively simple 5/8, or 5/16, exercise which (while not a precise copy of the sequence) works...for practice purposes.

Finger Placement
5 1 4 5 4

Notes
A A E G E

Timing
1 2 3 4 5

This will seem tricky to beginners, but once you commit this exercise to muscle memory it will be very useful.

Later I can show you the right hand chord progression (when I am not holding the camera), but only AFTER you MASTER this exercise.

Start slow. One measure of five notes. Break. Repeat.
Then try stringing the measures together until you can play without mistakes for a solid minute.
If you make a mistake, STOP, and start all over again.
