Core workout part 1
Core exercises primarily target the muscles of the abdominal region, including the rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis, and obliques. The rectus abdominis, commonly referred to as the "six-pack muscle," runs vertically along the front of the abdomen and is responsible for flexing the spine. The transverse abdominis, located deep within the abdominal region, is responsible for compressing the abdominal contents and providing stability to the spine. The obliques, located on the sides of the abdomen, are responsible for rotation and lateral flexion of the spine. In addition to the abdominal muscles, core exercises also target the muscles of the lower back, including the erector spinae and multifidus, which are responsible for maintaining proper spinal alignment and stability. Overall, core exercises help to strengthen the muscles of the abdominal and lower back regions, which can improve overall stability, balance, and posture.
