The quest for the best pike lure never ends but here are some of my favorite pike fishing lures. Fishing for Northern pike is a blast. What is the best lure for pike? Pike are more aggressive and bigger than bass with makes them a lot of fun to fight on a rod and reel. I Fish for Northern Pike in many Michigan rivers and lakes. I consider myself a reasonably accomplished Northern Pike angler. I have landed a few as big as 38 inches but am still searching for that 40+ inch Northern Pike. Most of my Pike fishing is done in 2-8 foot of water on local rivers. Pike are big aggressive fish that attack most lures that mimic natural forage or just look like an invader in their territory. They get aggressive and will hit just about anything but these are the lures that drive them crazy and consistently catch me big Northern Pike. There is no definitive answer to the question of what is the best lure for pike because of the endless variables such as time of year, water clarity, barometric pressure, depth, flow, forage ect... These are the Northern Pike fishing lures that I have the most confidence in after years of targeting Northern Pike on my local Michigan rivers and lakes.
