In fact, from 1982 to 2023, California has had the highest number of mass shootings in the United States, while also being ranked #1 for having the strictest gun laws in the country.

This raises the question of how effective these laws really are.

Furthermore, when it comes to gun violence, rifles are the least used type of firearm.

Even when you narrow it down to mass shootings, rifles are still not the most commonly used type of gun.

So, why are we still talking about passing an "assault weapon" ban? The truth is, this ban would not save lives. Rather, it is simply a stepping stone for those who ultimately want to ban all guns.

It's important to remember that the Second Amendment was written to protect citizens from government tyranny and to ensure that the people have the means to defend themselves against those who would do them harm.

Giving up your firearms is not the solution. It only serves to make you beholden to the government and vulnerable to criminals who do not obey laws.

We must stand firm in our defense of the Second Amendment, and reject any and all attempts to restrict our right to bear arms.
