West Texas Wind Turbine Farm - A Drone View #windturbine #windmillfarm #windpower #electricity

On our way back from West Texas in January, we spotted this nearby Wind Turbine Farm on the south side of IH-10, East of Ft. Stockton. Distances are deceiving out there, because we found a side road, FM something or other, that headed in that direction on our GPS. We drove on that road for nearly 8 miles before getting close enough to legally fly our drone over the field.

Please note that we used Zoom to get a somewhat closer view of the wind turbines, instead of flying dangerously close to them. We didn't want to risk crashing into one of those huge blades. We suspect that the drone would lose the fight and by the time it would have hit the ground, there wouldn't have been much left of it anyway.
