5 steps to doing a proper push up:
Start in a plank position with your hands placed shoulder-width apart, fingers facing forward, and body in a straight line from your head to your heels.
Lower your body by bending your elbows and keeping them close to your body.
Keep your core engaged and your hips level as you lower yourself until your chest is just above the ground.
Push yourself back up to the starting position by straightening your arms.
Repeat the movement for the desired number of reps. Remember to breathe and maintain proper form throughout the exercise.
