Cornus mas trees blooming on January 22, 2023

Some of the 200-250 cornus mas trees we have among the fruit trees were in a hurry to flower. Until the end of January we had high Autumn temperatures. Next week, specifically Thursday (26.01.2023) night, we expect negative temperatures and snowfall in the area. Let's see if the flowers on the specific trees will survive or if they will burn, dry out from the cold.

The walnut trunk, that fell due to lightning and we brought it back after cutting it low, we protected it to make 8 grafts.

As for the mess from the prunings, next week we will chop them up for burning except for the cornus mas wood which will be used as a handle for the shovels, hatchets and adzes since their wood is very durable.
