Modes are sometimes called the classical scales, and having a knowledge of them can be very useful towards understanding guitar music theory. A good knowledge of the modes will also improve your ability to create guitar solos and write guitar music.

There are seven shorts videos, one for each of the modal scales.
Modes 1 - the Ionian scale
Modes 2 - the Dorian scale
Modes 3 - the Phrygian scale
Modes 4 - the Lydian scale
Modes 5 - the Mixolydian scale
Modes 6 - the Aeolian scale
