Today I want to talk about reversing diabetes & obesity: how doing the opposite of standard nutrition advice changed our lives. I have lost 60 pounds, and my husband is reversing his diabetes and we both are reversing our chronic diseases. I explain how standard nutritional advice made us sick, and how the exact opposite of that advice has improved our health and drastically improved our quality of life.
Maybe you’ve been struggling with your weight, a high A1C, fatigue, brain fog, and poor self-esteem because you keep failing at achieving your health goals. Anyone who has been in your shoes knows that it’s not easy. You’re tired of hearing the same old advice and you have tried everything but something still does not feel right or change.

You have probably heard the standard medical advice on how to eat healthy…eat more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and cut back on saturated fats. If you have followed that advice your health is just like ours was before we learned the standard nutritional advice is causing us to be sick and fat.

So, how do you fix it? Do the opposite of everything you have been taught about proper nutrition. The standard nutritional advice of lots of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, minimal fat, and low protein is keeping us sick. This approach to eating is too high in carbohydrates and too low in healthy fats and proteins, which is causing high insulin and blood sugar and systemic inflammation and is the root cause of health issues such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and even cancer.

My husband and I have a different idea of a “balanced diet”. We focus on fat, prioritize nutrient-dense protein and eat minimal low-sugar fruits and veggies and it works for us. You have nothing to lose (except chronic disease) by doing the opposite of what has made you sick and fat in the first place.
