In this viewer requested video we go over the process of mounting an optic as a gunsmith would including lapping the rings to maintain 75% or better contact with the scope tube, the top rings do not require lapping as they will find their home once torqued in place. This is a process that is necessary for proper fitment of two piece bases especially or lesser quality rings but is not typically required for precision rings such as Spuhr one piece mounts, Leupold Mark 4, Badger Ordnance or Seekins tactical rings for example as has been shown in a previous video. Hopefully this clears up some of the questions and concerns that you guys may have had. Stay tuned, much more on the way.
