From New Delhi to the Himalayas (Kheerganga, Himachal Pradesh, India)

We found cheap flights to New Delhi, India, so we decided to create an itinerary that did not only involve the common tourist spots (e.g. Golden Triangle), and decided to do a side trip to the northeastern part of India to visit Kheerganga in Himachal Pradesh.

It was a 10hr bus ride to reach Kasol, and some of the roads were winding. Our bus broke down a few hours away from the drop-off point so we ended up riding an open-air bus which was filled with people and puke. It was a torturous start to our adventure.

Luckily, the trek was gorgeous, we encountered waterfalls, bridges, steep ascends and forests. For most of the way, you get a beautiful sight of ice topped mountain ranges. The trek was a total of 12km and we reached the height of 3050masl.

We ended up camping, the winds were very strong and there were dogs howling. It reached around 3 degrees Celcius at night, the sky was clear and the stars were beautiful.
