A pair of human trafficking suspects who crashed during a terrifying 110-mph car chase in Texas had been carrying a four-year-old migrant, it has emerged.

The traffickers - later seized by police - fled on foot, leaving five dazed migrants behind in the wrecked car in Kinney County on 20th January, say officials.

Footage of the chase - obtained by Newsflash from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) - shows how the traffickers refused to pull over.

As they roar along a highway dodging lorries and other cars, they only slow down to steer around a spiked police stinger to save their tyres.

They only stop when their car comes off the road in a cloud of orange dust.

By the time police reach the badly-damaged car, the suspects have fled on foot.

Their stunned human cargo is seen sitting on the ground nursing cuts and bruises.

One is cuddling the four-year-old child, said to be a Cuban national.

The Texas DPS said in a statement: "Five illegal immigrants, including a four-year-old child from Cuba were located after a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Kinney County.

"The human smuggler, from Dallas, led Troopers on the pursuit reaching up to 110 miles per hour before crashing into a ranch property.

"The driver and passenger bailed out. DPS Aircraft assisted in locating them. They were charged with evading arrest and smuggling of persons.

"The five illegal immigrants were referred to Border Patrol."

A second piece of footage from the Texas DPS shows the force's officers conducting brush operations in the Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday, 25th January, as part of "Operation Lone Star".

DPS Troopers and National Guard Soldiers located four illegal immigrants hiding under several houses, also after a high-speed vehicle pursuit.

The Texas DPS said in a second statement: "Texas DPS conducted brush operations in the Rio Grande Valley on January 25 as part of Operation Lone Star.

And a third piece of footage shows a human trafficker leading DPS Troopers on a third high-speed vehicle pursuit in Hidalgo County, also in Texas, on Wednesday, 25th January.

The driver eventually crashed into a ranch fence and abandoned the vehicle, running, along with a number of illegal immigrants, onto the property.

In a third statement, the Texas DPS said: "A smuggler led DPS Troopers on a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Hidalgo County. The driver eventually crashed into a ranch fence and bailed out, along with numerous illegal immigrants, running onto the property.
