Due to the age of the original content, I was not able to add my opener/closer to this video without issues!

In this episode of Wandering Wagners, we took it back in time to 2019. We filmed an entire video and never edited, or uploaded the content until today from our visit to the Ohio State Reformatory, also know as the Mansfield Reformatory. It was also the primary filming location for the 1994 movie, Shawshank Redemption!

We received all of the proper permissions prior to visiting and recording any of this footage.

The Reformatory was built in 1886 and remained in operation until 1990. Three years later the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed here, and in the area of Mansfield, Ohio.

In our previous video where we visited Malabar Farm State Park, we showed a few of the other filming locations for the movie as well.

This video is a blending of the history of both the original prison, and the filming site.

Over the years a lot has changed, so this style of video might no reflect how we currently record but we did the best with the amount of people who were around us at the time.
