In this King salmon fishing video we are river fishing for king salmon. This is just some footage from our salmon camp in 2021. In this video we are fishing The Betsie River in Northern Michigan. Salmon fishing Michigan rivers is plenty of fun and this year we brought some fiends with the hopes of getting them hooked up on some Betsie River King Salmon! Salmon fishing the Betsie River is so much fun! I love the river and It is reasonably easy to navigate! There are lots of great places to try salmon fishing in Northern Michigan and we fished a few different rivers in northern michigan while we were at salmon camp but I couldn't drag the guys off The Betsie River. Once they saw it they didn't want to leave lol. Homestead Dam is beautiful despite large crowds of salmon fishing enthusiasts clogging its banks every fall. Its no secret that fisherman from around the world travel to fish the betsie river at homestead dam. My experience on the Betsie river is that 9 out of 10 fisherman are cool and I met a lot of good guys and girls fishing The Betsie River this year. I imagine it is similar to the Salmon River in New York in terms of fishing pressure but smaller and lacking epic big lake run browns lol That is why The Betsie river is a famous Michigan fishing destination.

This year we came equipped with better fishing gear and more fishing knowledge and we landed more fish than last year despite less hookups. No complaints though as we all got to battle plenty of king salmon. The 2021 salmon run was not as strong as the year before but we didn't let that slow us down too much and we actualy landed several master angler king salmon on this trip and we cant wait to come back and enjoy the 2022 Michigan king salmon run. Salmon camp 2022 will certainly involve some Betsie river king salmon fishing.

King salmon fishing in Michigan is something I look forward to every year but I am always so excited to move on to fishing for coho with hardware and float fishing for fall steelhead as soon as the opertunity arises but it is fun to get your rod bent by a big michigan king salmon especialy if you hook into a fresh chrome king salmon. It doesnt get much better than that in terms of tug!
