Is Pence being used as a smoke screen?

Just learned about some documents that were inadvertently sent to VP Pence's home at the end of Trump's administration. It's not surprising to think that there may be classified information as it appears to be a ploy to make Joe Biden's handling of classified documents appear normal. Now, they're doing a forensic investigation to see if anything inappropriate was found. It seems like a strategy to create a smokescreen for Biden.
