Law: Oral Argument #2

477

Another oral argument -- this was an early one, and my first appellate win - the Farley case. Look how young and skinny I was!

Went from guilty of a felony to not guilty!

  • Steve, if you have old/new videos of you arguing in court, I believe people would love to watch that… in my opinion sir…

  • Is there some solid case law on the issue testifying as commentary/speculation about what a video shows? Looked up the opinion and was disappointed they didn't deal with that issue directly, because I do think it's a problem--and in another case could be written off as "harmless error"

  • Yay! This is the sort of Steve content I wish we had 24/7. This was so good to listen to and so educational. Is there a plan to turn Steve’s current book into an audiobook? Because I have the paperback and for me it’s difficult to find time to read but I’d love to hear Steve read it!

  • I can see both sides of the argument of speculation of video because it does help to have someone narrate what they see, but who that helps depends on the case. But in no case should the victim be the one who narrates a video, just answering questions about what they did or saw in the video. We should not have a victim narrating what happened after the victim left, leave that to the jury.

  • I believe it’s one word against the other words, that’s all the state had!
