2023 Big Bend Ultra Marathon - Checkpoint Alpha on the 20K, 30K & 50K Route #bigbendranchstatepark

This video is a part of the 2023 Big Bend Ultra Marathon series of videos that we are producing for Overland Racing and BigBend50. This video features Check Point Alpha on the 20K, 30K & 50K route. This location handled every route except the 10k. The 30K and 50K runners passed thru this Check Point twice. The 80K runners did the 50K first, then returned for the 30K route.

These volunteers were out there before sunrise and stayed until after the last runner had been accounted for. They recorded every runner's bib number on each trip, with the time, so that race officials could be sure every runner was off the course. Many of the volunteers drove in the night before the day of the race, because of the rough terrain and having to be in place before 5am.
