While all IcePlate® Curves now ship with IceCaps that have the QD button installed at the 12 o'clock position to serve as the primary safety against accidental activation of the QD button while rucking and/or backpacking, the IceCap Safety Shim is designed to as a backup device to the 12 o'clock QD button for added security.
