Several cellphone videos captured by a witnesses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo shows a Congolese SU-25 plane withstanding a air bursting MANPADS missile over Goma.

The missile was most likely fired by Rwanda or M23 rebels but the plane was not hit directly.

This however does not mean that the plane did not took any damage.

Air bursting MANPADS put out a lot of shrapnel that have the goal to damage its target to a point were the pilots can not keep their machines under control and crash.

Video evidence howerver shows that the plane landed safely at the Goma airport.

From other videos showing similiar incidents we know that the SU-25 is actually a pretty tough plane that proved its ability to make it back to base safe after taking severe damage.
