Woodturning - The Oak Speaker
Project I've been working on for the last couple of months, originally started in October. The Oak was taken from a fallen tree and still had a very high moisture content, no time to let it dry slowly over a year so in the oven the pieces went to speed up the drying. After the over the pieces was left to settle for around 4 weeks before finishing. There was a large fault running all the way through the wood, so this piece would have split anyway regardless of the forced drying process.
The speakers used are from Tang Band, each driver is a W3-1878 and the Subwoofer used is a W5-1138SMF. The amplifier uses a TPA3116D2 giving 2 x 50W and 1 x 100W. Still need to source a very small fan for cooling the amplifier box but should have that done soon, and then it will be for sale on my website.
Finished in Danish oil only.
