This video shows US Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment surf crew making a fresh start to the day, being awakened by sea spray during a training operation.
The video shows the USCG tackling the waves off Long Beach, Washington.
The conditions may not have been everybody's cup of tea, but they were reportedly ideal for helping ensure the crews stay ready for operations.
US Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment is the largest search and rescue station on the US north-western coast, with a total of 50 crew members assigned.
