The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) claim that they have eliminated seven more members of the PKK/YPG in operations across the Turkish border in northern Syria.

The country’s Defence Ministry said the terrorists were preparing an attack on Turkish troops stationed in areas where Operations Euphrates Shield and Spring Peace are being conducted.

Operation Euphrates Shield began in 2016, Turkey's first cross-border operation into northern Syria, to terrorist organisations threatening its safety, targeting Daesh, the PKK terrorist group, and the PKK's Syrian wing, the YPG.

As part of the operation, Turkish forces claim to have eliminated thousands of PKK/YPG terrorists in the region.

Euphrates Shield was followed by Olive Branch in 2018 and Peace Spring in 2019, attempting to abolish the foothold the terrorists have established on the southern border.

The PKK which is designated as a terrorist organisation in the United States, the European Union and Turkey, is currently controlling much of northeastern Syria, prompting an intense counteroffensive at home and in the region.
