This unsafe vessel with more than 390 people on board has been stopped by the US Coast Guard near the Bahamas.

The incident involving people from Haiti happened 60 miles south of Andros Island on Saturday, January 21, according to Coast Guard officials.

They said that the Coast Guard Cutter Legare’s crew worked with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force catching up with the “unsafe, overloaded Haitian sailing vessel”.

Authorities in the Bahamas said that the passengers of the vessel would be handed over to immigration officials.
