Abandoned concrete Pyramid in Albania

Albania has gone through some bad times, but one of the most notable was when some pyramid schemes tore the country’s finances to pieces, leaving everybody on average about £400 down. There are many videos on YouTube about this and what happened, I think you should check them out as it’s very interested.

Right in the middle of Tirana is a Pyramid structure which was a museum for the liberator turned dictator of Albania, Enver Hoxha, who died in the 80s. Apparently they were meant to turn this pyramid structure into a mausoleum, but that never happened. The pyramid of Tirana is still used today to broadcast radio and TV, and if you walk around the back of the pyramid, you realise that it’s actually only half of a pyramid.

Kids love to run up the pyramid, but when we were there, both times, there was a guard stopping people climbing it.

The pyramid is completely abandoned and smashed to pieces on the pyramid looking side. You can see inside that it is completely abandoned, but a pretty cool thing to see, if you’re in the capital of Albania. You can’t miss it, it’s right next to a main road.

The pyramid is the constant reminder to the people of Albania that they shouldn’t get involved in pyramid schemes.
