Kids threw candy at me in Helskini, from a truck! 🇫🇮

Whilst wandering around Helsinki, we were crossing the road and two dump trucks drove past full of kids in fancy dress throwing sweets out at people on the roadside with a sign saying Appila on the back. If anybody can tell me what was going on, that would be much appreciated.

We jumped on the ferry from Tallinn in Estonia, over the bay of Finland and landed in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, known locally as Suomi, to see what Finland's capital city had to offer to tourists.

Helsinki is pretty expensive, but a really nice city. We found that we were actually running out of things to do, but mainly because it was really cold and the things to do were outside. I think in summer, Helsinki would be awesome. I really enjoyed my time in Helsinki, and if you visit, you'll probably enjoy it too.

In the video we visited the library of Finland, which was really nice, very quiet as expected and it was actually free to enter. We went inside Helsinki Cathedral and also walked to Temppeliaukion Church which is the church inside the rocks, but it was 3€ to get in and that's not something I feel is worth paying 3€ for. A viewer commented on another of my videos that Temppeliaukion Church added this price to stop the influx of tourists flooding the church as it was overcrowded. I guess that makes sense.

Overall, Finland is a really nice place from what I saw, and Helsinki is pretty cool. Restaurants are expensive in Helsinki, but we actually found an all you can eat Sushi restaurant which was awesome and not expensive at all compared to the UK.

If you're going to visit Finland, I hope this video helps you decide whether or not to visit Helsinki. From Helsinki you can jump on the ferry over to Suomenlinna which is a sea fortress and a pretty cool place. You can see what that's like in another video out next week.
