Walking through Guadalajara's "most dangerous" district at night 🇲🇽

I did a search for the most dangerous street and most dangerous region in Guadalajara and a lot of the blog posts (probably written by people who've never been to those districts) said that Oblatos is one of the most dangerous regions of Guadalajara, but having been here for nearly 2 weeks, I disagree. It's busy, slightly dirty, very loud, but not dangerous.

I did walk to the bank one day in swimming shorts and a t-shirt, the swimming shorts are VERY short and have flowers on them, drawing a lot of attention to me, considering pretty much every mexican wears jeans, rather than shorts even though it's very hot here. So I obviously look like a foreigner, probably American to these lot. People stared, but nobody spoke to me, nobody approached me, nothing dangerous.

We decided to record our walk back from Juarez station, on the underground railway, then walking through Oblatos at night, in the dark. We even walked too far as we got off at the wrong stop. There were people about, doing their own thing, there were cars, animals, loud noises, but no trouble.

Is this actually a dangerous region?
